AWARD CATEGORIES

  • Entrants must be of Asian descent from one of the following eligible countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam.
  • Entrants must hold and provide a registered Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Entrants must own the whole or part of the business nominated (where it is part, the majority shareholder must be of East or Southeast Asian descent)
  • Entrants must be financially transparent with due diligence reporting structures.
  • Entrants must be of good name and character and must not have engaged, directly or indirectly in any conduct which in the opinion of the WA Asian Business Awards might discredit the Awards.
  • If shortlisted, entrants must agree to have their business and personal story made the subject of a two-minute documentary style presentation to be screened during the night of the gala presentation. This documentary will be broadcasted to national and international audiences and will be profiled on the WA Asian Business Awards social media channels and website.

  • The nominee must be an active business with a location in WA and an annual revenue of less than $10m, and 20 > or less employees
  • The nominee must have been in business for at least 3 years with demonstrated revenue growth
  • The nominee has a reputation for integrity, responsible business practices and high level of service in its community.  
  • Nominee must have demonstrated one or more of the following characteristics:
  • Revenue growth and/or job growth locally
    • Annual revenue of less than $10m, and 20 > or less employees
    • Innovative products or services
    • Provides exemplary customer service
    • Encourages and provides professional development of staff.
  • The nominee must be an active business with a location in WA and an annual revenue of above $10m.
  • The nominee must have been in business for at least 3 years with demonstrated revenue growth
  • The nominee has a reputation for integrity, responsible business practices and a high level of service in its community.
  • Nominee must demonstrate one or more of the following characteristics:
    • Revenue growth and/or job growth.
    • Annual revenue of more than $10m, and 20 < or more employees
    • Innovative products or services
    • Provides exemplary customer service
    • Encourages and provides professional development of staff
  • The nominee must be an active business with a location in WA and an annual revenue of less than $10m, and 20 > or less employees
  • The nominee must have been in business for at least 3 years with demonstrated revenue growth
  • The nominee has a reputation for integrity, responsible business practices and high level of service in its community.  
  • Nominee must have demonstrated one or more of the following characteristics:
    • Revenue growth and/or job growth locally
    • Annual revenue of less than $10m, and 20 > or less employees
    • Innovative products or services
    • Provides exemplary customer service
    • Encourages and provides professional development of staff.
  • The Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognises outstanding entrepreneurs who have excelled outstandingly in their industry.
  • The enterprise should be a formal entity.
  • The nominees must be a founder/co-founder of an enterprise/sole proprietorship firm/ partnership/ own account enterprise.
  • Social Impact Award recognises the efforts, and the nominees has shown a firm commitment to the community. The award aims to recognise outstanding businesses that use company resources to either solve social problems, or contribute positively to the environment, community or the society it operates in.
  • The nominee’s age should be below the age of 40 years as of 31st of January of the award year (2022).
  • The nominees should be a First-Generation entrepreneur.
  • The nominees should have started the enterprise on their own initiative, idea or innovation.
  • The enterprise should be a formal entity.
  • The nominees must be a founder/co-founder of an enterprise/sole proprietorship firm/ partnership/ own account enterprise.
